Glasgow Museums holds an important collection of work by the Glasgow Boys, the group of artists who helped usher modernism into Scottish painting. Rejecting the conventions of academic art, they embraced the real, the natural and the uncontrived, often painting outdoors and capturing everyday rural life with a fresh and immediate approach.
Their bold, painterly style, strong use of colour and increasing interest in decorative design give the collection considerable appeal for classic art licensing, with potential for cards, stationery, wall art, puzzles and other gift products.
