Spencer Wilson
Spencer Wilson is a highly adaptable illustrator known for his strong conceptual thinking and bold, graphic style. As co-founder of the award-winning studio Peepshow, he has built a reputation for creating intelligent, playful imagery that communicates ideas with clarity and humour.
Alongside his commercial work, Spencer’s personal projects have proven particularly successful for licensing. His striking series of cycling tour posters—fuelled by his passion for the sport—combine graphic impact with wit, while his illustrations of “MAMILs” (middle-aged men in lycra) have translated into popular gift books and products.
Spencer is the illustrator behind H is for Hummus: An ABC for New Parents (Penguin), which has developed into the Modern Parent’s ABC series, including P is for Playdate and F is for First Words. With its clean, contemporary aesthetic and relatable humour, the series has strong potential for extension across baby and parenting products, including wall art and nursery accessories. How to Look at Art - a comedic look at how to enjoy art - has potential to be taken onto other products as well.
Working across two distinctive styles—from loose, idea-driven sketches to clean, vector-based compositions—Spencer’s work is highly versatile and well suited to a wide range of applications, including cards, gift, print and paper-based products.
