Nancy Nicholson
Nancy Nicholson is a textile designer known for her bold, graphic style and distinctive use of pattern. Working primarily in stitch, she creates stylised birds, animals and natural forms using simplified shapes and carefully balanced colour.
Her embroidery kits have become central to her practice, with the accompanying ‘stitch maps’ forming a striking design language in their own right. Rooted in a strong creative heritage—her mother, Joan Nicholson, was a key figure in the revival of embroidery in the UK—Nancy’s work bridges traditional craft and contemporary design.
