Mique Moriuchi
Mique Moriuchi is an illustrator known for her charming, atmospheric work, combining simplicity with a strong sense of mood and storytelling. Her images, created using acrylic paint and collage, are rich in colour, texture and pattern, giving them a distinctive decorative quality that translates beautifully across a range of products.
Her work has been widely licensed, including a successful range with Paperchase, and is particularly well suited to greeting cards, publishing and giftware. Alongside this, Mique has illustrated over 20 children’s books, where her warm, thoughtful style has found a natural home.
Mique studied Illustration at Norwich School of Art, followed by a Masters in Sequential Design and Illustration at the University of Brighton. Influenced by her childhood in Japan and her upbringing in London, her work often draws on memory, everyday moments and the natural world. Her experience of motherhood and her role as a primary school librarian continue to inspire much of her imagery, with a particular focus on reading and encouraging children to engage with books.
Now based in Bedford, Mique continues to create beautifully crafted imagery that balances playfulness with a quiet, reflective quality.
