Mia Underwood

Mia Underwood is an artist and illustrator based in East Sussex, known for her atmospheric, textured work inspired by nature and the passage of time. Combining a background in design and illustration, she creates visually striking imagery with a strong sense of narrative and surface.

Her work has been successfully licensed across a range of products, including puzzles, gift wrap and phone accessories, demonstrating its versatility and broad commercial appeal. More recently, she has expanded into interiors, completing a major design project for a seafront seafood restaurant in Brighton, highlighting the adaptability of her work across both product and spatial applications.

Working across a variety of media, Mia’s paintings often explore the beauty of the natural world through layered, time-worn surfaces, creating pieces that feel both contemporary and timeless.

With over 20 years’ experience, her clients have included Usborne Books, Starbucks, The English National Opera and The Wildlife Trust. Mia continues to develop a distinctive body of work that translates seamlessly across licensing, interiors and design-led projects.
