Kate Osborne

Kate Osborne

Kate Osborne trained and worked in the textile industry for many years before turning to painting, and her background continues to inform her sensitive use of pattern and composition.

Working primarily in watercolour, Kate paints in a loose, expressive style with minimal preparatory drawing, creating atmospheric studies that capture the fleeting beauty of the natural world. Flowers, bumblebees and butterflies are recurring subjects, observed with a lightness of touch that reflects their transitory nature.

Her work has been successfully licensed across a range of products including greeting cards, tins and ceramics, notably for the National Trust, whose paper products featured her distinctive botanical imagery. Kate also teaches watercolour and digital sketching, and exhibits regularly across the UK, including at the Affordable Art Fair.
