Janine Partington
Janine Partington is an artist and maker whose work combines the traditional craft of enamelling with bold, contemporary design. Her subject matter draws on the natural world, including seed heads, florals, landscapes, and ceramics, translated into striking, graphic compositions.
Working primarily in vitreous enamel, Janine fuses glass onto metal using intricate hand-cut stencils, layering colour and form to create distinctive panels and jewellery. This stencil-based approach remains central to her practice, influencing both her enamel work and ongoing explorations into paper cutting and, more recently, hand-carved leather.
Janine’s work has been widely licensed over many years across greeting cards, journals, and paper products. Its strong shapes and vibrant colour lend themselves particularly well to print, with finishes such as foiling and textured boards echoing the tactile quality of the original pieces.
Based in Bristol, Janine continues to develop new collections, with her work exhibited and sold throughout the UK.
