Graham Carter

Graham Carter is a UK-based illustrator and printmaker with a career spanning over 20 years. Known for his versatile approach, he has worked across editorial, publishing, and advertising, with clients including BAFTA, Waitrose, the Financial TimesNew Scientist, and Aardman.

A graduate of Brighton University and Central Saint Martins, he was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize for his debut picture book, Otto Blotter Bird Spotter. His follow-up title, Alphamals: An A–Z of Animals, published by Templar, developed from a personal project and has huge potential for licensing. Graham's work has been licensed by greeting card companies world wide.

Alongside his commercial practice, Graham is recognised as one of the UK’s leading contemporary printmakers. His work draws on the natural world and mechanical forms, combining traditional printmaking techniques with a distinctive modern aesthetic. He has exhibited extensively across the UK, with works held in private collections.
