David Hitch
David Hitch is an illustrator and printmaker. He studied Illustration at degree level before completing postgraduate studies at Central Saint Martins, London. His career has encompassed editorial illustration, book covers, design, and children's books, with work commissioned by a range of international clients including The New Yorker and Penguin Books, for whom he created covers for the P. G. Wodehouse series.
Working across traditional and digital media, David has developed a distinctive visual language that combines strong graphic composition, wit, texture, and narrative. In recent years, his personal practice has focused increasingly on linocut printmaking, exploring the bold, graphic qualities of the printed mark.
His work has translated successfully into licensing across a variety of products, including greeting cards, embroidery, posters and craft-based applications. His linocut prints, in particular, have proved especially popular, offering a fresh and highly adaptable direction with strong potential for further development across paper products, textiles and beyond.
