Cressida Bell

Cressida Bell

Cressida Bell is a British designer specialising in textiles and interiors, known for her bold, decorative style and distinctive use of colour and pattern. She set up her company in 1984 after graduating from the Royal College of Art and has since created a wide range of products and bespoke designs, including textiles, stationery, illustration, homewares and accessories.

Cressida’s work has been licensed extensively, including by Yellow House for stationery, book jackets, tapestries and food packaging, as well as being developed into her own range of scarves, lampshades and greeting cards. Her clients have included Heal’s, the Royal Academy, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Charleston and Brighton’s i360. Her highly decorative designs translate particularly well across a wide range of products.

There is an undoubted influence from her Bloomsbury Group heritage — her father was Quentin Bell and her grandmother Vanessa Bell — but it is not an all -pervading one, and Cressida has developed a very individual style over more than four decades of working in design.
