Claire West
Claire West is a painter, who paints because it makes her happy and she hopes that it does the same for the viewer. She has a strong belief in the power of colour therapy in uplifting the spirit.
She loves colour and enjoys exploring its contrasts and its vibrant and intense nature. She usually works on canvas in acrylic and inks and more recently has been developing a range of Lino prints that are very popular. Her lino cut work is characterised by its charm, clarity and immediate appeal. Her compositions celebrate everyday moments, from allotments through the changing seasons to birds and festive scenes, capturing a strong sense of warmth and familiarity.
Claire’s work is licensed onto greeting cards, jigsaw puzzles, and apparel and has often been chosen for use in film sets.
She exhibits in galleries throughout the United Kingdom.
