New artist - Mary Stubberfield

20th January 2013: We are delighted to welcome Mary Stubberfield to Art House's exciting licensing agency! It's always nice to be approached by local artists - Mary is an artist and illustrator living in Eastbourne - a mere hop from Brighton and home to the fabulous contemporary Towner Art Gallery.

"I use watercolours, oils or acrylics and am studying printmaking techniques. Trained as an illustrator at Bournemouth College of Art, I have been commissioned by publishers and designers in Britain and the US. I have exhibited throughout London and the South East of England. the USA and Greece"

We were drawn to Mary's work due to it's vibrancy of colour and richness of subject matter. Her generous use of paint creates pieces with a fluid and positive feel to them with our favourites being her birds, forest, and still-life compositions. Mary has an unusually diverse portfolio of styles, accomplished in more traditional styles as well as constantly developing a much bolder, modern approach.
