Janine Partington - new papercuts

21st September 2012: NEW IMAGES by Art House Licensing artist Janine Partington, a designer-maker based in Bristol combining the traditional craft of enamelling with fresh, clean, contemporary design.

These latest papercut additions to her portfolio are an exciting new avenue and show-off Janine's trademark qualities of a deftness of line combined with a decorative approach creating images ideal for licensing to paper-products, tableware & greeting-cards. A popular technique in recent years, papercuts are remaining a strong trend.

"Following a BA at Sheffield in History of Art, Design and Film and an MA at Leicester University in Museum Studies, in 2002, I took a part-time evening adult education course at Filton College, Bristol in enamelling. I was lucky enough to do a course that was principally about making pictures rather than jewellery and my tutor Matt Benton did a great job of teaching and guiding me, but also allowing me freedom to do as I wished – I am not always an obedient pupil.

I hope to expand my ranges in the future. I also wish to explore new creative avenues such as the scalpel-cut line drawings that fill my mind..."

See more of Janine Partington's fascinating papercuts here!"
