Jane Askey - Abstract Landscapes
Living by the sea, Jane paints most days either on location or in her studio in Fife, Scotland working from sketchbooks, photographs and memory; using a range of media on gesso wooden panels, canvas and paper. Jane has a fascination with remote islands and is particularly drawn to the Scottish Outer Hebrides, a place she returns to as often as she can. The paintings are informed by her experience of the landscape. She explores the physical quality of paint allowing the gestural brush marks to suggest the light, weather and feeling of the places. The sense of being out in big open places lie at the heart of what Jane is expressing in paint. To see more of Jane's paintings contact us. -
